…if you believe my Garmin that is. Something was wonky with the satellites today. My ride stats show a 10,000 + metre elevation gain over a 50 km ride. It’s a ride that we’ve done many times before and the actual elevation gain is around 350 metres. It’s a little hilly but it’s not Everest hilly!
Got a break from the freezing temps. The sun came out and dried the roads enough for us to get out for a short ride. I was dying to try out my new Garmin Edge 200 that “Santa” brought me. I’m very excited to have better stats and my own cool route maps. (I’ve used my hubby’s maps in the past). 11 km down….2,989 km to go!
We’re back on track to reach our cycling goal (despite the dreadful weather!). 500 km on the odometer with another 1500 km to go. Provided that the summer brings us A) fine weather and B) no illness or injury we should reach 2000 km easily. That being said July, August and September are the big months. We will have to average 100 km per week for the next 12 weeks to stay on target.
Mother nature was on our side today. Got out for our second annual St Patrick’s Day ride. Covered 10.4 km. My husband bought a new Garmin Edge 200 GPS so we had fun looking at our stats when we got home. It tracks everything and gives a very cool map of route and elevation. Neat!
We’ve plugged our 2012 goal in to Garmin as well… 2000 km! We’re 0.5% there already!
